Introducing the Fugitive Motel Review of the Year 2010
Hello, dear readers. Are you worried that there won't be a Review of the Year this time round, especially as we've normally announced it way before now? Well, fear no more, for it is in production, albeit a little later than usual.
Kate has already recorded two interviews with Dutch Uncles (where she bribed them with birthday cake and some sort of backstage alarm kept going off) and Frankie & The Heartstrings (who made her laugh so much in one of the bawdiest yet most enjoyable interviews she's ever conducted). Benjamin and Andy hopefully have one interview each on the way, we are just working on firming them up. The last day of Motelvision final voting for contributors is today, and various other contributors are working on a variety of features for our lovely little limited-edition print fanzine.
It may be after Christmas this year - we are aiming for distribution between Christmas and New Year if not in the traditional run-up to Christmas Eve. We hope to bring you more online content this year too, starting with Kate's 'editor's choice' albums of the year longlist later this week, with the top ten published once a day from Christmas Day. And keep an eye out for our 'Festive Friday' treats each Friday morning in the run-up to Christmas, as well as our usual disc and live reviews service.
In the meantime, as our front cover hasn't been commissioned yet, here's a picture of Harry, the Fugitive Motel editorial cat, enjoying last year's ROTY as it was prepared for distribution.
