The Cribs - Ignore The Ignorant (Wichita)

While this cross-Pennine alliance is unprecedented and seems downright wrong, it has allowed The Cribs to expand their sound beyond the abrasive, yet catchy indie-punk of their previous three LPs.
So chock-full of hooks, delivered with a swagger and a boot to the face, that you can't help but enjoy yourself, in the same way as a great Ash single back when you were 17.

On tonight’s evidence, the shoegaze revival started a long time ago, and Deerhunter are top of the pile.
The sideways step in dynamic and lyrical content keeps The Maccabees - who were already vastly underrated - fresh, relevant and as thrilling as ever.
There may even be a good full album in these guys, difficult to find in the dance scene.
Lov’s voice, like a broken-hearted Juanita Stein lends itself perfectly to this well rounded, late night rumination on lost, but never forgotten love.
