Breakbot - Baby I'm Yours (Ed Banger Records)
1.5/6.0

Straddling a lazy Jamiroquai-esque funk backing track, this debut single from Breakbot does little to inspire confidence for future listening.

Wolfmother - White Feather (Modular Records)

This could be pumped into the dullest of places and turn it into a mini disco in three and a half minutes.

The sometimes genius behind memorable tracks such as Lift Me Up, Porcelain and We Are All Made Of Stars fell off the radar a couple of years back. With tracks like this, unfortunately it's no surprise.

Overall, this is a promising debut album. Packed full of electronic beeps and squiggles, it’s clear Sparks was influenced by the decade of his birth.

Unlike the genuinely impressive Ulysses, this song leaves no lasting impression on listeners and shows no progression.

“One journalist asked me why I don’t care about being sexy! I asked him the same question back because I thought it was really sexist. It can make you stronger but it can also make you feel weaker.” – Kate Nash
